The workshop outlines how we can move towards regenerative townships. Cities with linear metabolism are to transform into circular metabolism; rather than draining resources form hinterland and returning waste, both should happen in a loop within the city. Energy services form the backbone of growing urban centres. The change to a decreased energy consumption pattern should start at the individual level, moving to neighbourhood and community levels aided by urban government policy.
