Tomas studied Horticulture in the Netherlands and came to India in 1983. He founded Annapurna Farm in Auroville in 1986 on a135 acres landwhich cultivates rice, millet, sorghum, roselle etc., and where crops are combined with dairy cattle, cheese production and casuarinas wood production. It is Auroville’s largest farm and community’s main rice producer and a certifiedorganic farm. Currently he is working on mechanising the farm, optimising the yields and functioning through collaboration with a Dutch agricultural university.
