Toine worked at the Matrimandir, founded Auroville Electrical Service and was also a member of the team that built the 36 kW solar system at Matrimandir, Auroville. He was one of the founders of the Auroville Renewable Energy Group, which later evolved into the Auroville unit “AuroRe”.  In the period 1996 – 2009 he held senior management and corporate leadership positions in the global wind energy sector. In 2009 Toine decided to return to Auroville where he devotes his time to a variety of activities including township infrastructure development, energy planning and business management consultancy services. Toine is a co-founder of Auroville Consulting.
