Uma Haimavati
Uma founded Upasana at Auroville in 1997 and currently leads many social development projects. Her passion lies in using creative power of design for social change at grass route level. She is also deeply commitment to environmental protection. Projects of Upasana are living demonstrations of what is possible when design takes responsibility for serving People and the Planet. She graduated in Fashion design from NIFT ( National Institute of Fashion Technology), New Delhi and worked for 2 years as a designer before coming to Auroville in 1996.
